Twelve Days of Giving

This program is a service project that gathers donated items from offices, departments or organizations at Texas State University and delivers them to a nonprofit organization of the Student Leadership Board's choice. Last year, we chose to donate to Hays-Caldwell Women's Center. Student Leadership Board members place a holiday-decorated box in the respective participants' office space, to collect the items from students and staff.

The participants engage in some fun, healthy competition to see which one can collect the greatest amount of donations for their area. At the end of the competition, the participant with the most donated items will receive the Giving-Meister Cup! The Giving-Meister Cup has been passed each year to the department with the most donated items and is awarded at the 12 Days of Giving Reception.

We believe this program reflects an important aspect of the holiday season and what it truly means to be a Bobcat by helping the greater San Marcos community!
